On Thursday the RSB Rig Pro team unstepped the 8.5 Ton main mast and 4.5 Ton mizzen onboard the ketch; Mikado.

The whole operation took most of the day and was not made any easier by the torrential rain that finally stopped in the late afternoon. With the masts now on the ground the undressing procedure can start before the rods and associated fittings are surveyed and re-headed or replaced as necessary. Mikado will be in the STP yard throughout the winter for extensive refit work before the masts are re-stepped in the spring.
