With more and more powerboats making use of the STP facilities, the team at RSB are capable of removing and reinstalling, shell doors, stern doors, gangways and passerelles. Our specialist team of technicians are highly experienced in providing the best solutions for the set up and execution of heavy lifting projects. The importance of employing a qualified and certified team of experts to undertake these types of projects is paramount; not just for insurance purposes but also for the the captains piece of mind. RSB are one of the few LEEA qualified and certified superyacht rigging teams with the knowledge and ability to carry out heavy lifting projects.

LOAD TESTING AND CERTIFICATION

We are a LEEA certified company capable of load testing EAS tracks, crane cables and lifting gear. We protect the hull and paintwork during the inspection and use purpose built water bags and wireless load cells for testing. A full written report is supplied once the inspection is complete.

Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations

The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER), regulation 9 states that all lifting equipment is to be examined at the following time intervals.

6 MONTHS

Certificate of thorough examination for all lifting accessories and any item used for attaching loads to machinery for lifting; shackles, slings, strops, hooks, hoists, ropes, person lifting/climbing harnesses, fall arrest and safety lines. Lifting Accessories are defined as any device such as single leg or multi-leg slings, eyebolt, spreader beam etc. used to connect the load to a lifting appliance, but which is not itself part of the load or the appliance. Anything between the load being lifted and the crane hook or suspension point.

Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations

12 MONTHS

Load testing and thorough examination of all lifting equipment and any work equipment for lifting and lowering loads; crane cables, passerelles, boarding ladders, pad eyes, Access Rail Systems, fixed lifting points. Lifting Equipment is generic term used to cover all lifting accessories and appliances. A more specific meaning covering lifting appliances, their anchorages and fixings.

Person Lifting

We can install new fixed points and facilitate the annual inspection, servicing, load testing and certification of existing pad eyes and Access Rail System (ARS) with all components on any sized vessel. Person lifting refers to any device which is used for the lifting or suspension of people when working at height (2+ meters above the ground) such as Access Rail Systems, pad eyes, harnesses, rescue tender cranes.

Cranes

We can fabricate, install, load test and certify new crane cables and lifting poles to your required specification. We also facilitate the servicing of existing cranes components and hydraulic systems with our partner Marine Hydraulic Solutions.

Maintenance Plan Subscriptions

We can design and implement individual planned maintenance schedules for all pieces of lifting apparatus. This makes meeting safety standards and regulations as straightforward and efficient as possible but also increasing the life span of your equipment.

This is exclusively for vessels with an itinerary and a planned maintenance schedule allowing us to reserve place for all of your 6 monthly and 12 monthly tests, examinations and certificates well in advance. You get the peace of mind from knowing our availability is guaranteed during busy periods of the year whilst receiving up to a 10% discount. During the vessels first period of work with us, we will discuss the routine scope of work required and the ideal time period to perform all tasks.
