At the end of last year, RSB Rigging purchased a 3D printer as a progressive tool for their rigging services. Since then, 3D printing has become a game-changer for efficiency in certain areas and has opened up new avenues for creativity and precision.
Steve Branagh, Founder of RSB Rigging Solutions, comments:
“3D printing is revolutionising how we handle production and prototyping at RSB. Previously, we had to outsource washer production to engineering companies which involved design time, sourcing materials, extensive machining and labour hours. Now, with in-house 3D printing, we can produce washers almost immediately and with minimal wastage. This change significantly reduces delays, material waste, costs, and labour hours.
In addition to washers, we use 3D printing for creating sacrificial parts. These temporary prototypes help us ensure everything fits perfectly before manufacturing the final metal components, making it invaluable for proofing designs.
On the fun side, our 3D printers also churn out some cool kids toys too!”
